Thanksgiving is a time for many things—enjoying the gorgeous fall weather, savouring a delicious turkey dinner, and spending time with family and friends—but above all else, it’s a time to pause and reflect on what we’re most thankful for. Not only do we appreciate the sentiment behind this holiday, we know that practicing mindfulness and gratitude can be good for our physical and mental health. That’s a wonderful bonus!
Here are a few things the Living Assistance Services team in Toronto is grateful for this Thanksgiving weekend. If you’d like to tell us what you’re thankful for, please add a comment on our Facebook page! We’re always pleased to hear from you.
Our health
After over two years of life in a pandemic, we’re more grateful than ever for our good health, the incredible health care workers in this province and the amazing medical science that has allowed us to regain so much normalcy in recent months. Many seniors endured hardship and isolation throughout the early stages of the pandemic, and we’re deeply thankful that families are able to gather again.
Our homes
As individuals and families around the world face unimaginable struggles, we are forever grateful to have safe, comfortable homes. We’re also thankful for the delicious, nutritious meals we share each day and the many other comforts that fill our daily lives: clean drinking water, a hot shower, a warm bed at night, our safety and peace of mind. We are so fortunate!
The wonderful people around us
Every one of us has a unique community of friends, family, colleagues and neighbours who add kindness and colour to our lives. (We’re sure a few people just came to mind!) The team at Living Assistance Services is thankful for all of the wonderful people around us each day, both personally and professionally—you make life wonderful!
Our caregivers, our clients and their families
Living Assistance Services in Toronto would be nothing without its team of incredibly kind, skilled and dedicated caregivers. You’re truly the best! We are so glad to work with each and every one of our PSWs and look forward to many fantastic years ahead. We also feel gratitude to our administrative team, who ensure the best possible experience for our staff as well as our clients, and the directors who lead Living Assistance Services in various regions across the province. Finally, we’re deeply grateful for the wonderful clients our team works with as well as their families, who trust us with their loved ones’ care. Thank you all—we wish you a safe and relaxing holiday weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!
