About Us
Opal Rowe is no stranger to the home care business and caring for seniors. For the past 20 years she has watched her mother caring for many seniors demonstrating passion and satisfaction while going about her work. Living in a community with an abundance of seniors, Opal also observed many of her neighbors receiving home care and was taken aback by the lack of professionalism in the industry. Being very service-oriented and having training and experience in the hospitality and many other service industries, Opal was inspired to start a homecare company, Nowhere Like Home, in 2008. Its mandate was simply to enrich the lives of seniors.
In 2010, Opal connected with David Porter, Director of Living Assistance Services and quickly realized that both companies shared a similar business vision and a "service paramount" philosophy. A partnership with Living Assistance Services ensued and today Opal is the independent owner, Director and operator of Living Assistance Services, GTA North, which encompasses Willowdale, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham and Vaughan.
Despite the hectic demands of operating a home care business, Opal believes in giving back to the community and volunteers with Meals on Wheels and the Canadian Cancer Society. She is an active Rotarian as well as a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women. Opal is also on the Board of Directors for West Toronto Senior Support Services (WTSS).
